worked hard to reduce the amount of memory used by Firefox 3 over a web browsing session, one of the biggest problems in the previous versions.
Firefox 3 sets the innovation bar very high with exciting new features, including one-click bookmarking, the smart location bar and lightning fast performance.

Items in the “File” menu show as inactive after using the “Print” item from that menu - switching to a new tab restores them (bug 425844). This issue has been fixed.

Mac users of the Flashblock add-on, experienced an issue where sound from the Flash plug-in would continue to play for a short time after closing a tab or window (bug 474022).

For Windows Vista users, Thunderbird 3 Beta 1 is now integrated with Vista search results. On first start, Thunderbird will prompt to install its indexing system into Windows Vista and you can choose to see Thunderbird email and news messages in Windows search results.
For Mac users, Thunderbird 3 Beta 1 can import from Mail.app, read your OS X address book, and use Growl for new mail alerts.

Faster Message Loading for IMAP
Thunderbird will now download IMAP messages in the background to allow for faster message loading, and better offline operation. This feature can be enabled on an individual folder basis (via folder properties), or for all folders in an account, via Account Settings / Sync & Disk Space.

The Windows Live team has released an update for Windows Live Messenger 2009 bringing Messenger to version 14.0.8064.0206.
So far there is no word on the actual changes in this version , but according to Microsoft there should be some “improvements” aka bugfixes in this release.
