The people over at liveside has got there hands on some new information and screens from the upcomming Wave 3 of the Windows Live products, and it looks like we are in for quite some changes.
Windows Live Mail will reviece an update with calendar synchronisation, so finally you can scrap outlook.

Windows Live Messager will also receive an update with wave 3, and quite a lot of new features has been added. The feature list and screens below are from the M2 Build of Windows Live Messenger 9.0
The leaked version I posted about last week was the M1 Build.
Feature list according to mess.be
- Main window header (dashboard) backgrounds are customizable.
- New, bigger e-mail inbox icon located at the right in the header.
- Personal Status Message (PSM) and “music you’re currently listening to” are now separated.
- Colored display picture frames show the contact’s current status: green means available, yellow is away, red is busy, white means offline, pink means pimping. Ok, I made that last one up.
- Buddy icons in the contact list are replaced with the similarly colored squares.
- The What’s new feed below your contact list keeps you posted on what your contacts are up to in terms of blogs posted or photos uploaded to Windows Live Spaces, files uploaded to Windows Live Skydrive, etc… the potential of this feature is huge). It’ll also show a thumbnail picture if applicable and there’s a personal feed per contact in the conversation window.
- Promotional tabs have been moved to the footer, right above the banner ad.

I must admit it’s the best looking messenger client I seen in a long time, and if the feature list is accurate it will be the best version to date.
Finally but not least, Windows Live Photo Gallery will have an update, and this time Microsoft has decided to integrate Movie Maker into it.
Movie Maker has until now been a part of Windows, but the Windows Live team apperantly decided its should a part of the Windows Live Products range.
Windows Live Photo Gallery will offer a more complete set of photo / slideshow / video management and sharing tools.
